What is Movember?
The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.
Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean-shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.
Last year 257k mustaches were grown worldwide raising 42 million dollars.
This year, Team RDU is one of 15+ teams competing in the Movember Digital Challenge: a competition to declare the best Social Media area in North America. We are already 100 members strong yet have fallen to #3. We really need your help. Help us regain the #1 spot!
Movember Team RDU Gala!
Now that we're in the home stretch, if you want to come to the "sold-out" Gala, we're asking you to step up and make a donation to get your ticket. You can donate whatever amount you can afford. As you can probably figure, all of the money goes to the #Movember charity!
On the last day of November Team RDU will say thank you to all our supporters and also beg you for one last donation.
There's no need for a big poofy ball gown either, it's a casual event.
We're requesting donations at the door, the amount is up to you. We're only making a limited number of tickets available, so sign up early.
